Mercedes-Benz E-class - one of the most famous cars of the German company Mercedes-Benz. Although the designation Executivklasse (business class) was introduced in 1993, the history of the predecessors of the E-Class is the history of the entire brand, since until 1982 they were the most popular cars.
Traditionally, the E-class was produced in the sedan, but since 1969 a coupe appeared in the range, from 1978 a station wagon, and from 1992 a convertible (although special vehicles based on the E-class have always been produced).
In the period 1997-2008, there was no coupe or convertible; a CLK class was produced based on the bodies of the smaller C-class, but outwardly stylized as an E-class. The current generation of the E-class in addition to the sedan and the wagon W212 and S212 regained the coupe and convertible versions (C207 and A207). Since 2010, Mercedes-Benz has decided to resume the production of convertibles based on the E-class
